About us

Our History

Lyn Partners in Community Empowerment.

Lyn Partners in Community Empowerment (L-PACER) started in 2020 as an ordinary farm producing ginger, watermelon, maize (corn) and trees in Kyegegwa during the long COVID-induced lockdown as our founder’s side income. It wasn’t long before he realised the dire situation of the casual labourers who came seeking employment for meagre wages he could afford at that time. He was touched by the large number of orphans, youth, widows, and single mothers who flocked to the farm for employment. During the casual conversations with them, he realised that the little money earned would be used for daily survival in addition to school fees and other scholastic materials. However, the money was never enough to sustain their needs. To help improve their livelihood, he decided to dedicate time to train them in better farming methods to increase their farm produce and also to connect them to markets for their products. Due to the emotional drain they experienced as a result of their daily struggles, psychosocial support was provided in small manageable groups. Eventually, he started L-PACER which has since expanded its programming scope to include early childhood Care and education, teacher professional development, literacy skills development, guidance and counselling, community skilling, and gender transformative education.
